Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas
I’m not sure why I haven’t read this yet. Maybe I’m still heartbroken over the way Empire of Storms ended, or maybe I’m just reluctant to have this series end at all! But regardless I do know that I will be reading this one soon since I’m in the midst of a reread of this entire series in preparation for Kingdom of Ash coming out next month!!! AHHH! I can’t wait!
All The Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater
From The Scorpio Races, to The Raven Boys, and even the Shiver series, Maggie Stiefvater has been a favorite author of mine for quite some time but its a mystery to me as well why I haven’t yet read All the Crooked Saints! I have had it sitting on my bookshelf since it was published, but the moment has never come to take it down and actually read it! One of these days I will though because if I know Stiefvater at all, it will be amazing!
Wonder Woman Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
This is another author that I have loved since the first book I’ve read of hers, but once again bought this book and it has been sitting on the shelf ever since. I WILL read this and the rest of the DC Icons books here in the near future. ESPECIALLY since Catwoman is also out now and I’m pretty sure I’m going to love these! Once I get through the stack of books I have coming up this one is next on the list!
The Young Elites by Marie Lu
Marie Lu is an author who I didn’t get into until last year when I finally decided to read her Legend series. I instantly fell in love with her writing and the beautiful characters she created. I immediately picked up Warcross next and loved it as well. The Young Elites is my next Marie Lu adventure that I plan on conquering but you know how it goes. So many books, so little time! I promise these are on my list though!
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
GASP! I know right?! What kind of YA lover am I to have not read the Lunar Chronicles?!!! I’m ashamed to admit that the only Marissa Meyer book I have actually read is Heartless. But that doesn’t keep me from loving her writing and the beauty behind how she creates these modern fairytales. I have been picking this book up only to set it down for later for years now. Maybe the next time it will stick. I sure hope so because I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this series.
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
This is a double whammy author wise. Amie Kaufman I fell in love with while reading her collaboration with Jay Kristoff in the Illuminae Files (which were absolutely amazing). And then Meagan Spooner I really enjoyed while reading Hunted and I can’t wait to get my hands on Sherwood due to come out next year!! So Why is it that I haven’t picked up this series yet?! The covers are gorgeous and I love a good YA Romance. I definitely have these on my TBR but they just aren’t high priority enough.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
So there is a reason I have yet to pick these up. I have heard SO MANY good things about them and I’ve waited this long that I was going to hold out until the third book was published before I devoured the first two and then had to wait years to continue on with the series. The only problem with that is, Kristoff just recently pushed out the publication date for the third book to 2019. So I am sticking to my guns and holding off until then. I know it will be worth the wait though :)!
The Archived by Victoria Schwab
This one surprises even myself, especially with the Scwhab binge I have been on this year. I have knocked out just about every Schwab book I can get my hands on this year from the Shades of Magic series, to City of Ghosts, to Vicious I have absolutely loved them all! This one is definitely next on the schwabathon, but I have to branch out to some other books before I can get back to my Schwab addiction. AND I have Vengeful to read now as well!!!
White Cat by Holly Black
I have gone through all of Holly Black’s fae books, and have heard some pretty good things about this series but for some reason I have never actually given it strong consideration. Maybe these will have to make an appearance on my TBR so I can have the full Holly Black experience. On a Holly Black side note, is anyone else as excited as I am for The Wicked King to be published?!!! Not too much longer!!! YAY!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowling
I have been a really bad reader with this series and I hate to say it, but I watched the movie without ever reading the book!! What is wrong with me!? I do intend to read these eventually. But for now the awesome movies are doing them enough justice to hold me over until I run out of all the other reading material I have on my plate. I am definitely excited to see the next movie though!
Have you all read all of these? Any of these? What do you think of them? Worth taking the plunge and reading them? I think for the most part these are books that I do eventually plan on reading but there are just SO MANY BOOKS that I want to read that these unfortunately keep getting pushed further and further back on the list. Some though I will read here soon! What do you all have that you need to read still from your favorite authors?! Let me know in the comments below!
