This a meme that we have started here at Vicariously & Voraciously in attempt to organize our thoughts for all the books we are currently reading. This is so we can update the status of how far along we are in our current reads, how we are liking it so far, and any other general current updates on the books as we read them. Feel free to use this prompt to keep your currently reading status up to date with us! It can be used weekly, once a month, or as often as you like.  We love to see what everyone is reading and what they think!

35430572. sy475 Remedial Rocket Science by Susannah Nix

Current Status: 32% (Audio Book)

I’ve been binge reading some Rom Coms here lately because they seem to be the only thing to get me over my book hangover that Queen of Nothing left me in! And this one is really good so far!!! After reading the quirky synopsis I decided that this was a go and I haven’t been able to put it down since! I just hope I can tear myself away from this genre long enough to finish the other pile of books I’m “supposed” to read! The nerdy girl getting the hot rich guy scenario can never be over done. Who doesn’t love thinking that we could all be her and meet the guy of our dreams who just so happens to be extremely good looking AND rich?!! I swear I live vicariously through these characters!!! Still waiting for my perfect meet cute! Anyway, this one is perfect to pick up any time any day and jump right into the funny and yet oh so relatable life of Melody the MIT Tech Nerd as she tries to navigate her way through life and love!

43517326The Weight of a Soul by Elizabeth Tammi

Current Status: 20% (eBook ARC)

This is an arc that was actually due yesterday, but of course in the usual Rae fashion, I am late! But fear not! I am really enjoying this one so I’m hoping to have it finished within the next day or so! I have recently found that I love a good viking story and had no clue that this book was about vikings until I started reading and was so pleasantly surprised that I did a little WHOOP WHOOP in the living room getting all sorts of weird looks from my family. The story did start off a little odd like you were dropped in right int he middle of a plot you should already know but its growing on me the more I read. Not to mention there’s a pretty big death right in the very beginning of the book that I was NOT expecting! So it picks up quickly and you figure it all out as you go along. I’m pretty sure there is going to be some insane otherworldly traveling to realms of death in the near future though so things are definitely on the brink of taking off. IF i finish this before the next Book Juggle, keep an eye out for my review!!

43575115. sy475 The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

Current Status:  25% (Audio Book)

I have been WAITING for another Erin Morgenstern book for I can’t even tell you how long. Eight years? A Hundred? It sure feels like the latter. I fell in love with her writing in The Night Circus and have been obsessively checking and checking and checking to see if she had any works on the horizon. Anything to ease my insane want to read more of her writing! And then last year when the news of this book was released, I KNEW I had to get my hands on a copy. Now I have about 4 different copies of the same book but who’s counting anyway?! I have been taking this read slowly, savoring every word and short story and chapter and page. Her writing is like art. Like folk tales that are told from the memories of your great great great grandparents and passed down through generations. I can’t get over her writing and will milk this book for all its worth just to make it last long enough to not leave me starving for more!!! The book is wonderful so far and I’m so excited to be diving head first into this world of magic and books and keys and bees. I can already tell that I am going to love this book and I’m only 1/4 of the way through it.

42952728A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer

Current Status: 1% (eBook ARC)

This is going to be a Buddy Read with the ever so lovely Scrill!!! This was one of my most anticipated reads this year and really the only thing holding me up is writing my past due review for A Curse So Dark and Lonely. I don’t know what is wrong with me but I’ve been struggling to keep up with all of my book obligations lately. I think I just want to have this effortless ability to write eloquent and flowing reviews but when it boils down to the truth of it all, I struggle. I don’t know why I struggle with putting words to paper (or screen in this case) but once its all out there and permanent for the most part, I start to second guess what I’m writing and then it ends up being some rambly jumble of nonsense like this poor blurb on this book has become. Point in case. BUT I am working on it and hopefully I will get that dang Past Due Review done here soon so I can start this buddy read!!! (Keep an eye out in the next day or so for that PDR). Anyway, this is supposed to be Gray’s story, and I loved him from the first book so I am really looking forward to hearing his story and viewing things from a different perspective. It should be fun!

Let’s Discuss

I’ve been pretty MIA for a while here lately, I just haven’t been in the mood to keep up with much of anything. But Scrill and I are BACK!!! We’ve taken the time to get our mental health back on track. We lost our fur babies and as all of you probably know, it sucks. BIG TIME. I got a puppy though, and my gosh, I forgot how much work a puppy can be! Starting over from square one again after having gotten so set in my routine with my big old dog, starting over has really thrown me for a loop! Its good to be back blogging though. Feels like coming home after a long extended, and kind of weird vacation. I haven’t necessarily stopped reading, just haven’t been posting about any of my recent reads or anything in general really. So my questions of the day for all you wonderful people who have made it thus far in this ramble are, How have you been? How are your holidays going so far? Have you read anything that you can’t get off your mind? Just let me know how things are going in general! I’ve missed all my book buddies and just want to know how life is treating you! Hope all is well and its good to be back.
