June 8 is National Best Friend Day here in the US of A, so I decided to do a feature with some of the best squad books. Now, we haven’t read all of them, so please don’t be mad if your favorite is not included. Also, if we mention all of the squad books this list could go on forever. So Rae and I have decided we will pick 3 each that we have read. Links are provided to either past reviews or to their page on Goodreads.

Scrill’s Picks:

1. LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff

You guys. This book has a great best friend. I thought about saving this for my Galentine’s Day Post for next year. But let me be honest, Lemon Fresh is a great best friend, but what makes this book so awesome is the addition of a tiny robot named Cricket, a robot dog named Kaiser, and a lifelike robot named Ezekial. If I had friends like these, I think I could survive in a post-apocalyptic robot world featured in this book.

2. A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab29939230

I know I didn’t actually like this book as much as I liked the first two, BUT, the dynamic between all the friends was just so on point. I mean Schwab got us all liking Holland by the end. How? Because this crew of unlikely friends worked so well together, and they overcome such impossible odds together.

132069003.Winter by Marissa Meyer

I love retellings, and this is one of my favorites. Especially because it only really keeps the basic fundamentals of each story and is in an entirely new world. I am so trash for all of these characters’ HEA and love how they get to work together. Each character had their own personality that really kept the books interesting for me. If you haven’t read this series, I definitely recommend.

Rae’s Picks:

234371561. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I don’t think there is a Squad I could possibly want to join more than how badly I want to be a part of this merry band of misfits! From their scheming leader Kaz, the wraith Inej, the heartwrender Nina, the sharpshooter Jesper, the warrior Matthias, and last but never least the artist Wylan. There is never a dull moment or a question as to why these six friends belong together.  To join them all you have to do is pick up and start with page one, trust me, you won’t regret it.

176754622. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

This book was one of those that stuck with me long after I finished it. I couldn’t get the scenery and the characters out of my head!! Maggie Stiefvater is one of my favorite authors because she paints a picture so real and vivid that it takes magical realism to a whole new level. Blue is told from a young age to stay away from boys because if she ever was to kiss her true love, he would die. So what does she do? Joins a group of best guy friends on an adventure that will change her life forever, of course! I loved the plot and the friendships in this book so much! I feel like I would fall in love with all the Raven Boys for each of their unique personalities, I can see why Blue loves them all! It was such a fun read full of magic, mystery, adventure, and friendships!

179273953. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Squad Goals right here!!!! I feel like I could sum this up in one phrase…. The Inner Circle. 🙂  This was probably my favorite book in this trilogy because we are introduced to so many amazing new characters that show you how friends eventually can become family, and how when you have that perfect squad, nothing can touch you! Not to mention this is the book where everything takes a turn for the best, and you just can’t help but fall in love right along with the MC Feyre. I finished this book, turned back to page one, and immediately began reading it again it was THAT good!!!

We’re Curious  \ ^_^ /

What do you guys think of our choices? Have you read them? What are some of your favorites?

We had quite a few runner ups that we had to choose from that just made it so hard to pick just three. Some of these you may think that we are crazy for not even choosing them, but to be honest, we wanted some variety, we couldn’t just pick books from the same 3 authors….Books such as Throne of Glass, Ruin and Rising, or The Illuminae Files. Other runner ups are Mistborn, Roar, The Last Namsara, Air Awakens, Witchlands, Furyborn, Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Ready Player one, Warcross, and sooooo many more!
