We all love them, those precious characters that we adore and want to just put in our pocket and protect them forever! For National Cinnamon Roll Day (October 4) we thought we would share a few of our favorites! Please know, that these are not our only precious characters, just some that we came across this year.
P.S. please don’t hate on our male focused prompt, it can be a boy or a girl!
Scrill’s CinnaMan Rolls
Book: Ace of Shades (The Shadow Game #1) by Amanda Foody
This cinnamon roll is just trying to do the best for his gang and is penalized for the actions he was forced to because of an employer. He may live in the City of Sin and be the leader of the Irons, but he is a big softie inside.
Book: Earth’s End (Air Awakens #3) by Elise Kova
Okay, I know I still haven’t written my review for this book, but I will soon, I promise. I am only on the third book of this series, and every single one so far has wrenched my heart out with how much this girl endures. She is a cinnamon roll that is still so strong. This series is so good! And she’s writing more, which makes my heart so happy!
Prince Merik Nihar
Book: Windwitch (The Witchlands #2) by Susan Dennard
(This blurb includes spoilers to book 1) This prince goes to great lengths to help his country. Presumed dead he basically haunts his city as he roots out problems while all the while being destitute and relying on his only companion that is a street-rat kid. Uhm, also he is barely given any time to mourn the death of his thread brother. So, sad!
Rae’s CinnaMan Rolls
Prince Niklas Øldenburg
Book: Sea Witch by Sarah Henning
Nik was such the hopeless romantic in this book, and its not often that you get that from a male character. I loved that he cherished his friendship with Evie above all else, including her title. He was such a sweetheart to her and was honestly just a sweet and kind guy all around. Not to mention a musician! Can we write him into real life now please?! And let’s be honest, sometimes we need to have a good guy to root for!
Book: LIFEL1K3 (Lifelike#1) by Jay Kristoff
Batman would be nothing without Robin, and the same goes for Eve in LifeL1k3. Without her best friend Lemon, she wouldn’t have had the courage to keep going when all seemed lost. Lemon was the perfect loyal friend and deserves the world! I loved her go getter attitude and the fact that she could kick ass and still be as bubbly as they come. She was one of my top favorite characters out of all the books I’ve read this year so far!
Book: Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
At first we are lead to believe that Fiske is all barbarian because he is a part of the Riki’s and they are known to be bloodthirsty and evil. But turns out that sweet Fiske is nothing of the sort. He is actually the gentle family man who has a younger brother who adores him, and a mother that thinks he hung the moon. Not to mention that when he had the chance to kill a rival clan member, he chose to save him instead. This book made my heart melt in every scene that contained Fiske!
First, have you met our CinnaMan rolls? Who else have you read about this year that deserves so much more than what life has handed to them?
