It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s prompt is Characters I’d Like to Switch Places With, and I actually switched weeks with Scrill so I could do this prompt because this is one I’m going to love to do!! I’m all about the characters in the books I read so here goes!!

Donatella “Tella” Dragna

Legendary by Stephanie Garber

To get to visit the magical event of Caraval not once, but twice. And then the second time around to fall in love and discover the biggest secret of Caraval sounds like a pretty awesome adventure. Not to mention all the beautiful dresses you’d get to wear and the magic you could experience, just have to remember that its all a game.

 

 

Audrey Rose Wadsworth

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

I would observe corpses for a living if I also got to do it along side Thomas Cresswell. I love the fun and goofy relationship between these two and to spend a day in the shoes of Audrey and get to have Thomas Cresswell swooning over me sounds like a dream. Also there’s never a dull moment in the life of  Audrey Rose!

 

 

Captain Alosa

Alosa is nothing short of amazing. I love her witty personality, and her loyal crew aboard her ship. It would be so much fun to switch places and spend the day as a pirate, captain of my own ship, free to sail anywhere I please. And to have the powers of the Sirens as well, nothing could stop me!

 

 

Inej Ghafa

Inej is just a badass. I would also love to be a part of the Dregs. To be friends with Kaz and the crew, to eat waffles with Nina, to go on missions, all of it sounds like nothing short of amazing. I would kill to be Inej for a bit, maybe even finally get that kiss from Kaz I’ve been waiting on for, well FOREVER!

 

 

Delila Bard

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Oh Lila Bard. I would love to be able to fit in anywhere and have the skills to learn how to scheme and trick my way into and out of all situations. Lila is crafty and always manages to find a way even when there doesn’t seem like there is one. I like that she is brave to a fault and will do anything that sounds adventurous. To live life to the fullest is her main objective and I can respect that.

 

Spensa

Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

We all have had to prove ourselves one way or another, and Spensa is no different. But to be able to be such an amazing pilot as well as incredibly smart and brave, that is something we should all aspire. I would love to see what its like to fly a spaceship and live on another planet while fighting aliens. Especially if I could have all of Spensa’s skills.

 

 

Jude Duarte

Disclaimer: There are many aspects of Jude’s life that I would not want to be in her shoes for, but to switch places with her and get to experience the world of Faerie, and mess with Cardan and the others would be pretty damn awesome. I would also have to smack Taryn in the face, because she makes me so mad. But just getting to visit Elfhame would make up for it all.

Another experience where I could see what space is all about. I would nevere be in a position where I would ever visit space in real life, so I think that if I could switch places with a character it would be fun to go somewhere I would never have the chance to normally. Not to mention Kady has some badass pink hair and AIDAN watching her back.

 

 

Blue Sargent

Who doesn’t want a bunch of goofy and adventurous guys as their best friends. And to visit magical forests in search of long dead kings. To grow up in a family of psychics and live such an eclectic life would be fun. Aside from the curse that she will kill her first kiss, I think that Blue Sargent would be a fun character to switch places with.

Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young

Don’t tell me being a viking wouldn’t be so freaking awesome. I love their savage and brutal way of life. It would definitely be a hard life, but imagine how tough you would be if you had to spend even just a day in the life of a viking. Especially in Eeyln’s life, where she actually strives to stop all the fighting so they can conquer a common emeny. It would be an experience thats for sure. Maybe I just want to be a viking for the awesome hairstyles… lol.
