Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Since this is a freebie, I am going to do my morally grey, or sorta bad guys that we actually like. Maybe we can call it bad boy syndrome? It like…Dexter, we know he’s a serial killer, yet we cheer him on. Let’s just pretend this is a follow up to last week’s favorite villains. So, without further ado, and in no particular order…
Mia Corvere
Nevernight (Nevernight Chronicle #1) by Jay Kristoff
Can we all just agree that she’s the baddest of bad asses? This chick is out for revenge and her assassinating skills and magical abilities are awesome.
Jacks Prince of Hearts
Legendary (Caraval #2) by Stephanie Garber
Be still my beating heart, Jacks, because you can have it. In the second book we are given this sort of villain who is seriously so swoon worthy and has that touch of bad that is irresistible.
Aeduan
Truthwitch (Witchlands #1) by Susan Dennard
This hired assassin is hot hot hot! Oh my, I can’t wait for the Bloodwitch (#3) book to come out as he is featured on the cover. Dear Aeduan, if you want to hunt me down from my blood scent, then by all means, come and get me.
Holland Vosijk
A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3) by V.E. Schwab
Despite being my least favorite of the series, we get some serious Holland time in this book, and what a poor little baby tucked into such a powerful body.
Kage Tatsumi
Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox #1) by Julie Kagawa
Maybe it’s because this book is based on Japanese folklore. But I love that this guy has to suppress his feelings to keep the demon inside him from taking over his body.
AIDEN
Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I mean, this psychotic computer is so dear to me. How can it not be?
Levi Glaiyser
Ace of Shades (The Shadow Game #1) by Amanda Foody
I know I just pointed him out in the Favorite CinnaMan Rolls post, but this guy is just so lovable even when he is leading on Enne. Like he’s totally sketchy, and pulls some underhanded stuff in his town, but all he wants is the best for his gang.
Ari
The Alchemists of Loom (The Loom Saga #1) by Elise Kova
Uhm, this chick kicked dragons and harvested their organs. Seriously, how barbaric? But she’s still such a freaking bad ass!
August Flynn
This Savage Song (The Monsters of Verity #1) by Victoria Schwab
This monster plays music and reaps your soul while you confess your sins. I love him. Gimme.
The Darkling
Shadow and Bone (Shadow and Bone #1) by Leigh Bardugo
I feel like this is a huge debate. Like there are so many Darkling lovers out there. And this sick twisted guy is just so, UGHHH! Like why are you so evil?
Prince Cardan
The Cruel Prince (The Folk of Air #1) by Holly Black
Well duh, of course he is on this list. This lovable bully that we hate so much we just love him? Don’t get me wrong, he’s a little prick.
Lets Discuss
Do you like stories that have characters that do bad things? Who are some of yours?
