This a meme that we have started here at Vicariously & Voraciously in attempt to organize our thoughts for all the books we are currently reading. This is so we can update the status of how far along we are in our current reads, how we are liking it so far, and any other general current updates on the books as we read them. Feel free to use this prompt to keep your currently reading status up to date with us! It can be used weekly, once a month, or as often as you like. We love to see what everyone is reading and what they think!

Funny side note to start with: When I first sent Scrill the photo of this book to add to the TBR post, she thought I was reading a book called Satan, lmao. Thankfully the actual title is a little more subdued, I’ll save all my evil books for another month! Now that that’s out of the way I am happy to say that the only thing evil in this book so far is poor Lyra’s aunt. I have a feeling I am going to hate her by the end of this book. Its got some Cinderella vibes at the moment but instead of evil step relatives, its her aunt and cousins who want to take the throne from Lyra just because she was born different. All I want at this moment is to give poor Lyra a big hug and to tell her that everything is going to be okay.
Sherwood by Meagan Spooner

Just starting this one, but its one I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time now!!! I loved Hunted so I’m hoping that this book is equally as amazing. I haven’t really had a lot of time to sit down and read, and it always seems like when I’m reading a physical book it takes me soooo much longer since I have to set aside time to be able to sit down with the book rather than listening or reading on the go on my kindle. Technology has made things so convenient that reading anywhere and everywhere has me spoiled. I’ll make time this weekend though and knock out a chunk of this one 🙂

Its over, and I’m still not exactly sure what I just read. The writing in this one was a mix of Shatter Me with repeating words and sentences, and the confusion of Wink Poppy Midnight with a plot that was difficult to follow so in a sense you just kind of have to let go and let the book lead you wherever it may. I will say that the writing was almost poetic with the flowery descriptions and metaphors for pretty much every description. But at the same time it was almost overdone, when all I wanted was to know what the heck is going on, not how the 135th thing is compared to a spider web. (Not joking there were so many spider web comparisons that I started highlighting them to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind.) I didn’t hate it but I also didn’t really love it either. I’ll have a review for this one up this week, so I’ll have more on what I thought about it there.
The Pioneer by Bridget Tyler

NEED TO READ!!! I haven’t yet gotten into this one still, I have had a slacker reading weekend, but on the other hand I got a lot done review and blog post wise, so its a give and take sort of situation. I will be getting to this one tonight, I have made a schedule to get these ARCS done before the next round is due so this one is next up on the list. Hopefully I’ll be able to fly through it!
