Yay! The first two weeks of October are typically my favorite time of the year. I don’t know if it’s because it’s right around my birthday, or because the weather is the first hint of fall, but it’s just magical. This month promises a lot of fun between my birthday, a trip to Portland, OR, and the addition of sugared out me jacked up on Halloween candy.

October Spread

img_9180It’s easy to see where my inspiration came from for this months monthly pages.

I used a large sticky note to block out a section for text, and found some inspiration for doodles on the internet. It’s a bit tedious to draw out that many acorns, but I really like the finished product. I debated adding in some color, but opted out of it because it was already so busy.

Since I had so many acorns and leaves I decided to keep with the woodland theme and threw in some little woodland doodles. They were surprisingly not stressful to draw since they were little odds shaped doodles. Originally the owl in the top right corner looked a lot like No Face from Spirited Away. The only thing that truly bothers me is what should have been the easiest to draw: the tree. I mean. WHAT IS GOING ON THERE?

Week 39

Since I am in the middle of my TOG reread I opted to throw in a quote from book 2. Honestly, I am sure each week through October will probably have a TOG quote. I am separating my reading goals this week because I have so much I am juggling that I didn’t want it mixed up with my everyday life…which honestly is basically work and reading, but you know what? I had that space to separate it, so I did.
