Book Description
An enchanting story about the magic of books and the power of imagination from debut author Anna James. Perfect for fans of Inkheart, The Land of Stories, and Story Thieves. Soon to be a major television series!
Since her mother’s disappearance, eleven-year-old Tilly Pages has found comfort in the stories at Pages & Co., her grandparents’ bookshop. But when her favorite characters, Anne of Green Gables and Alice from Wonderland, start showing up at the shop,Tilly’s adventures become very real. Not only can she follow Anne and Alice into their books, she discovers she can bookwander into any story she chooses. Tilly’s new ability leads her to fun and exciting adventures, but danger may be lurking on the very next page…
When new secrets are uncovered, it’s up to Tilly to solve the mystery of what happened to her mother all those years ago. From debut author Anna James comes a charming and exciting adventure about a bookish young heroine, a mysterious librarian, and a magical bookshop that will delight book lovers everywhere.
Dream Cast
Matilda (Tilly) Pages
I think a young Mackenzie Foy would be a perfect Tilly Pages with her intelligent eyes and keen sense of adventure while at the same time being shy and reserved. She has the perfect personality for a girl who has spent most of her free time with her friends from books and living in a magical bookshop!
Anne Shirley (Anne of Green Gables)
With the long red locks that poor Anne Shirley was teased for, I think that actress Valentina Lyapina would be the perfect fiery red head to play the role of our beloved Anne with an “e” of Green Gables. Although she would adamantly correct you and say that it is auburn not carrot colored, this is the spitting image of the young girl I had imagined and think she would be perfect for the role.
Alice (Alice in Wonderland)
With the blonde hair and blue eyes to match, I think that acctress Elsie Fisher would be perfect for the role of Alice. She seems like she could take on the adventures of Wonderland yet still need to reach out for friends like Tilly to show her how big the world can be. Give her a blue dress and a cat named Dinah and I’m pretty sure the role would be hers immediately!
Oskar
And who better to play Oskar than our beloved Stranger Things Star, Finn Wolfhard! I kept imagining his dark curly hair and shy personality when it came to the timid boy who befriends Tilly! I think that the pair of them fit their book characters perfectly and I can’t imagine anyone else playing the role of Oskar!
